One Month

Baby Lucien has now been living with us for one month! He has learned lots of new tricks recently. The big one is, of course, smiling at us! They're still fleeting and I haven't yet been able to catch one with the camera in hand, so you'll have to take my word for it that they're very cute.

Things Lucien likes: looking out the window, dancing on his changing table (supported by two hands of course), sleeping in his parents' bed, taking walks in Prospect Park, and, as of this morning, having a bath in the kitchen sink.

Things Lucien doesn't care for: estrogen (he's just come through a nasty bout of baby acne), sleeping on his back (so much for contemporary parenting rules), and the part of the evening falling between 7-ish and 9-ish. This is the time for fussing, yowling, and general discontent.

Lucien has spent a lot of time with his two grandmothers over the past few weeks, and a little bit of time with one of his great-grandmothers.

He's also met two of his great aunties who came all the way over to Brooklyn to spend time with him.

He's a lucky boy!

I plan on hanging up a poster size picture of him bathing in the sink at his high school graduation party.
